Phoenix Marathon

I RAN THE PHOENIX MARATHON!!!!!! Not going to lie. It's one of the hardest things I've ever done. It was also fun and exciting and so rewarding. The morning started off to a to a rocky start when there was an unexpected traffic build up and I cried before I ran two miles to the finish where I caught the last bus to the start.... So technically I ran 28.2 miles! Haha
When I got to the start there were tons of people there of all sorts. Newbies like me and legit athletes that made me think, "What the heck am I doing here?!" The fireworks went off and I couldn't help but get emotional after I took those first few steps after the start line. I worked SO hard and I had never felt stronger. The chilly weather was perfect, the sun was rising and I just felt so grateful and proud to be a runner.
I remember so many random and funny parts of the race. I remember seeing Baily at the first station when she smacked me in the butt, and Jezerea as I was going through Las Sendas, and of course the elders in my ward at the Mesa Mission station yelling "GO SISTER FARR!!!" At the half way mark I saw Tyler and my whole family cheering me on with posters and I started to cry. Marathons are so emotional guys! I felt so loved I wanted to hug them all! I felt weird running past them and just yelled "Thank you!" At another part of the race I saw a hummingbird and every time I see one I think of my grandma who passed three years ago and that God is sending me some inspiration. I of course got all choked up because I saw one at my last race too. The rest of the race was a blur especially after mile 20 but the finish felt like my body was just DONE. I was of course so drained and wanted to sit on the ground eating my free Kneaders french toast and find the message people. That weekend was rough since I literally couldn't walk the next day and came down with hay fever... but it was still fun I promise! Anyone want to run the next one with me?
