Holiday Highlights

This year has come to a close and SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED. 2015 has been the toughest year ever and there were some ups and downs that I never thought I would experience. This past semester to say has been hard, would be an understatement! With that, I've had to put off things like art, music and writing aside to focus on my studies. One of my favorite things the past few months have been the times when I get to take a breather and just celebrate! So to catch up, here are all my holiday highlights that I loved!

WE MOVED
that's worth celebrating right?? Tyler and I started off our marriage in my parents guest house but we recently moved into our own little apartment that we can call home where I've learned to love all the views and people around it. It is super tiny but it is right around the corner from the temple and our favorite places to eat. Definitely a win win!

2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
It's so crazy how much Tyler and I have changed and grown together. I'm so so so lucky to have him! We celebrated by shopping, getting candy( like our first date), and gelato from Frost (it was heaven in our mouths).

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS:
We normally don't celebrate this holiday but I think it so interesting when I get to learn a little bit more about my heritage not to mention all the art that is involved. It was a fun day at the Mesa Art's Center, one of my favorite places!

HALLOWEEN
Tyler and I actually think Halloween is pretty lame... But we somehow always end up at Rebecca's house so we've made it a Halloween tradition!

MARK AND HANNAH'S WEDDING
I really do love these two. Mark served with Tyler on his mission and we remember when they started dating. This was such a fun day that made me cherish those first moments when Tyler and I were married and remember where it all started! I'm pretty sure we'll be best married friends forever.

LJ'S HOMECOMING
I was proudest big sister when LJ came home from serving his mission in the Oakland/San Francisco Soanish speaking mission. I was also so a little jealous that his Spanish is a million times better than mine now. His homecoming talk made me cry and girls are already after him!

THANKSGIVING
We took family pictures and of course stuffed our faces. I'm thankful for everything I've been blessed with. Need I say more?

END OF THE SEMESTER

I seriously thought this day would never come. Taking 18 credits while working and training for races is not easy. At all.
I remember being so happy after printing out my last (75 page) project this year and somehow pulling an A in my art history class. Of course we had to take group photos after spending a year and half together!

CHRISTMAS:
This year I tried to focus on what Christmas is really about. This whole month went by too fast and I felt like I didn't really get to soak in all the Christmassy fun that I usually do with all the business of finals. Instead I focused on Christ every time I saw Christmas lights and felt the spirit when I could. We sent out Christmas cards for the very first time and really have been enjoying the break! We had some yummy food, laughed a ton with all my aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws and watched way too many movies. I'm so spoiled every year but my favorite present had to be my new running shoes!

I'm off to go celebrate the last day of the year! Peace out 2015!
