I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have a deep testimony of the gospel. My love for my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ grows everyday and I try to be more like Him. I don't know what I would do or where I would be without my faith.
I was born and raised in Mesa, AZ and will always love the heat more than the cold. I come from a Mexican family and a bit biased when it comes to good Mexican food. I'm the oldest of four and love my siblings to death. My parents are the hardest working people I've ever met and can do just about anything.
In high school I played basketball, softball, cross country and track and still love to do them all. Sports made me kind of cool and helped me make friends since I was always the shy, introverted girl with long hair and glasses. I also played the violin and miss being part of an orchestra. Since then I've picked up the guitar and like to try sing covers of my favorite songs.
After high school I went to community college and after a year decided I wanted to be a teacher. Not long after that, I met my husband since his class was right next to mine. I had heard his name floating around and apparently he had heard of me and I remember him talking to one of my friends in his class. I looked at him and said, "Hey you're Tyler right?" and he says, "Hey you're Olivia right?" gave him a high five and went to class. He literally walked into my life and he's never stopped being a part of it ever since.
Ten months later, two days after my birthday, we were engaged. Then on 10.26.13 we were married and sealed for all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. I had the most beautiful wedding with the ones I love most surrounding me. My grandmother passed away a month before I was engaged and while we were cleaning out her things I found her wedding dress. We had it cleaned and I was able to wear it on my wedding day without any alterations. I felt so privileged to emulate the beautiful woman she was and have her spirit there with me. My reception was held in the same church building my parents were married in and it was perfectly decorated. It really was a fiesta complete with the best tacos and mariachi band. It was the most surreal, beautiful day of my life.
I just recently graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education May 2016. I also am to start my first year of teaching 5th grade in August 2016 and I could not be more excited!
